A. How much did you understand?

 

  1. "I caught a cow," the hyena said to the fox.
  2. "I killed a goat," the fox said to the hyena.
  3. The fox said to the hyena, "I'll go hunting again. I'll try to catch another animal."
  4. "I caught the cow, so I can eat the cow," the hyena said to the lion.
  5. "Don't try to argue with me!" the lion said to the hyena.
  6. "Look at all this meat," the lion said to the fox. "Which of it is for you, and which is for me?'
  7. "Why don't you eat the camel for your breakfast, the cow for your lunch and the goat for your supper?" the fox said to the lion.
  8. "What about you?" the lion said to the fox. "What are you going to eat?"
  9. "Perhaps you'll leave a little bit," the fox said to the lion.
  10. "I saw the head of the hyena," said the fox to the lion. "It helped me think more clearly too!"

 

B. What were the animals feeling?

 

  1. The lion hunted all day, and in the evening he was tired.
  2. When the lion woke up, he was hungry.
  3. The hyena wanted to eat the cow, and the lion became angry.
  4. When the cow heard the lion's voice, she was feeling frightened.
  5. When the fox saw the hyena's head in the tree, he was careful.
  6. When the fox said the lion should have all the meat the lion was surprised.

We think that the best moral of this story is sentence 2: Always be careful when you are dealing with powerful people.
